Color Splash Out 2026 – Important Camp Information for House Leaders & Volunteers

Camp Theme
Olympus: Experiencing Myths, Exploring Legends, and Embracing Heroes
 
Each day of camp will have its own theme.
Thursday, July 16 - Day One – Embracing Myths
Wear if possible: We'll begin camp with our Welcome Ceremony at 8 p.m.
 
If possible, wear something white—a white shirt, shorts, or another white clothing item.
Friday, July 17 - Day Two – Exploring Legends -
Saturday, July 18 - Day Three – Embracing Heroes
 
Wear if possible in the morning: Comfortable clothes that you don't mind getting colorful!
Saturday morning is our Color Splash dodge the powder game using colored powder. While most of the powder washes out, some colors may lightly stain clothing, so please dress accordingly.​
Wear if possible in the evening your Greek Mythology clothing for the Variety Extravaganza Show!
Saturday night is our celebration and costume party.
Our theme is Greek Mythology, so have fun with it!
Ideas include:
  • Toga or Greek tunic
  • Greek goddess dress
  • Zeus or Poseidon
  • Medusa
  • Athena
  • Achilles or a Spartan warrior
  • Apollo, Artemis, or any Greek hero
  • Create your own original Olympian!
Accessories are encouraged:
  • Laurel crown
  • Gold jewelry
  • Gladiator sandals
  • Cardboard shield
  • Lightning bolt
  • Trident
  • Staff
  • Toy lyre
  • Handmade props
No need to spend money—we encourage creativity and homemade costumes!
Sunday, July 19 - Going Home - We will give you a shirt for pictures!
After breakfast we'll take our final camp photos.
Please wear your Color Splash Out camp shirt 
Then it's hugs, goodbyes...and until next year!

THE HOUSES

Our cabins are called Houses.

Each House includes bunk beds, air conditioning, showers, and restroom facilities.

Each person will receive a twin mattress.

We encourage campers to personalize their space by bringing:

  • Favorite blanket

  • Small rug

  • Pillow

  • Small lamp

  • Pride flag

  • Stuffed animal

  • Decorations that make them feel comfortable and at home

Many campers love making their bunk feel cozy.

SNACKS

Feel free to bring snacks to share with your House.

Please do not bring snacks containing peanuts or tree nuts due to allergies. We also ask that you avoid dairy-based items that require refrigeration unless they are for your personal use.

PACKING LIST

This list includes the essentials to help make your camp experience comfortable, fun, and adventure-ready. If you have any questions about what to bring, please don't hesitate to reach out.

 

If you have a little extra room in your bag, we also encourage you to bring an extra towel or unopened toiletries such as soap, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes, or deodorant.

 

Sometimes our young friends arrive without all the basics, and having a few extra items allows us to quietly and respectfully make sure everyone has what they need.Thank you for helping us create a community where we care for one another.

BEDDING

  • Twin bed sheets

  • Blanket or comforter

  • Pillow

  • Weighted blanket (optional)

 

TOWELS

  • Shower towel

  • Beach/swimming towel

CLOTHING

  • T-shirts

  • Shorts

  • Jeans

  • Pajamas

  • Undergarments

  • Hat

  • Tennis shoes

  • Flip-flops

  • Shower sandals

  • Extra socks

TOILETRIES

  • Toothbrush

  • Toothpaste

  • Shampoo

  • Conditioner

  • Soap or body wash

  • Deodorant

  • Sunscreen

  • Shower sandals

  • Personal hygiene items (including menstrual products if needed)

SWIM SUIT

  • Please bring a swimsuit that allows you to feel comfortable and affirmed.

  • We encourage everyone to wear swimwear that aligns with their gender identity.

For safety reasons, please avoid:

  • See-through swimsuits (wet or dry)

  • Swimwear that is not secure for swimming

  • Bottoms held together only by ties, snaps, or button

SWIMMING ITEMS

If you'd feel more comfortable wearing a life jacket while swimming or kayaking, please bring one.

Optional:

  • Pool noodles

  • Small inflatable toys

  • Beach ball​

Be sure to pack:

  • Comfortable tennis shoes

  • Extra socks

  • Bug spray

  • Sunscreen

  • Water bottle

  • Books for quiet time (optional)

  • We'll also have books available throughout camp for anyone who would like to borrow one.
