Dear camper and family,
Photographer Salgu Wissmath and reporter Nicky Yeager will be attending ColorSplash summer camp July 16-19 for an article that will be published in a news publication, (the exact news publication is not yet decided). The story is about what it’s like for LGBTQ youth to attend a queer summer camp in Texas, in the context of anti-trans legislation statewide and nationally. They hope to celebrate queer and trans youth embracing joy, pride, and togetherness in Texas.
If you have questions or concerns, the photographer and reporter are happy to discuss them with you personally in advance of the camp. Salgu Wissmath is a freelance nonbinary photojournalist in San Antonio, and Nicky Yeager is a freelance nonbinary writer originally from Austin.

Nicky Yeager
Hi y'all, I'm Nicky (they/she) and I'm a freelance writer working on a feature about this year's ColorSplash Out summer camp. I'm figuring out what the story will hold but I hope to celebrate queer and trans youth embracing joy, pride, and togetherness in Texas. I grew up in Austin originally and am now living in Brooklyn.
